On April 25, 2025, it was reported by Panda3dp.com that law enforcement officers made arrests at TuoZhu, the world’s highest-grossing 3D printing company. Several employees were detained at the company’s headquarters, while others, including former staff members, were apprehended elsewhere. The total number of individuals involved may be even greater than initially believed.
According to unofficial sources, the allegations have proven to be true. The cause of the arrests appears to be internal embezzlement, rather than the leaking of sensitive corporate materials such as promotional pages for the upcoming H2D model. This development signals the beginning of a major internal crackdown at TuoZhu.
On Xiaohongshu, users also shared images from the scene, capturing the dramatic moment of the arrests.

The penalties for internal embezzlement are determined by factors including the perpetrator’s identity, the amount of money involved, the severity of the crime, and the presence of any mitigating circumstances. Convictions could result in prison sentences. Within the 3D printing industry, TuoZhu has long been recognized for its stringent confidentiality protocols, with few outsiders privy to its internal operations. Its management and operational processes are known for being exceptionally efficient — component suppliers have told Panda3dp.com that TuoZhu’s procurement procedures are both swift and remarkably precise.
In 2024, Panda3dp.com visited TuoZhu’s office at the Rongchao United Headquarters Tower in Nanshan, Shenzhen. The workspace, as shown in the photograph, featured warm white dividers separating desks, with many employees’ stations adorned by 3D printers and prototype components. Though a little cluttered, the atmosphere was alive with enthusiasm for 3D printing.
Elsewhere in the office, the décor was notably minimalist, with none of the large showrooms often found in other companies. It has been nearly a year since that visit, and it remains uncertain whether the office has retained its understated style. Panda3dp.com remarked that the following room might well be considered TuoZhu’s de facto showroom.

TuoZhu has swiftly ascended to become the global leader in the consumer 3D printing market, with annual revenues reaching several billion yuan. Despite offering only a handful of products, each has become a runaway success. Since the launch of its first high-speed, multi-color 3D printer, the X1, in 2022, the company’s growth has been nothing short of meteoric — surpassing even DJI’s early expansion pace. According to optimistic projections shared within industry circles, TuoZhu’s 3D printing revenue could potentially surpass 10 billion yuan in 2025. |
