The 2025 Formnext Shenzhen exhibition attracted more than 20,000 professional attendees, with Panda3dp.com’s livestream drawing over 34,000 online viewers.

At the booth of HAN'S MATRIX3D—a subsidiary brand of laser equipment giant Han’s Laser—General Manager Tang Jinglong introduced two newly launched multi-laser metal 3D printing systems, while also sharing deep insights into the copper materials market. Tang emphasized that both machines were designed with high cost-effectiveness, intelligent features, and reliability at their core, targeting diverse industries from prototyping and tooling to aerospace and new energy.

1. Smart and Open: HAN'S MATRIX3D HANS M360-4 Multi-Laser 3D Printer

The first highlight was the HANS M360-4, a metal 3D printer equipped with Han’s latest intelligent systems.

Key Features:

Intelligent Monitoring & Recoating: Newly integrated smart monitoring and powder recoating systems ensure process stability and efficiency.

Fully Open Parameter Package: Provides open-access process parameters, enabling users to pursue advanced secondary development and process exploration with exceptional flexibility.

Advanced Safety Options: Optional permanent filter system enhances operational safety and reliability while lowering consumable costs.

Flexible Laser Configurations: Supports 2–4 laser setups, compatible with both imported and domestic sources, allowing customers to balance performance and budget.

Applications & Materials:

The system is well-suited for prototyping models, conformal cooling molds (such as shoe molds, inserts, and sprue bushings), as well as aerospace components. It supports a wide material range including tool steels, stainless steels, titanium alloys, and superalloys. Demonstrated exhibits included ornate dragon-shaped ornaments and precision gear parts, underscoring its strength in both complex functional structures and artistic designs.

2. Precision-Oriented: HAN'S MATRIX3D Green-Laser 3D Printer

The second major unveiling was a next-generation metal 3D printer equipped with a green laser source.

Key Features:

Green-Laser Advantage: Optimized for pure copper and other highly reflective metals, overcoming the energy reflection issues that plague traditional infrared systems, ensuring stable and efficient printing.

High-Efficiency Recoating: Incorporates top-feed and bi-directional recoating for faster layer deposition.

Smart & Safe: Features intelligent recoating inspection and has passed rigorous explosion-proof certification for long-term operational safety.

Applications & Materials:

Designed specifically for copper, the system excelled in producing liquid-cooled plates, heat-dissipation fins, and guide plates. These parts highlighted its capability to process fine, intricate geometries essential in thermal management and heat-exchange systems.

3. Market Focus: Copper Applications Shifting from Performance-Driven to Cost Optimization

During the interview, Tang Jinglong discussed the current state of copper 3D printing applications. He explained that present adoption is primarily driven by performance needs—particularly in new energy (battery cooling) and thermal management (liquid-cooled heat sinks)—where extreme dissipation and complex channels are critical. Cost considerations remain secondary, as large-scale production has not yet been achieved, leaving copper printing less competitive than conventional methods.

However, Tang expressed confidence in the future: “Performance demands are the driver, application volume is the lever.” As adoption broadens and scales up, mass production effects will naturally lower costs, unlocking enormous potential for copper 3D printing.

HAN'S MATRIX3D’s dual product strategy was clear at Formnext: addressing mainstream demand through cost-effective, configurable multi-laser systems, while simultaneously breaking new ground in high-reflective materials with green-laser solutions. With the surging interest in copper applications within the new energy sector, the company demonstrated both robust technical reserves and keen market foresight.
